Krampus is coming. Are you ready?

IN EUROPEAN FOLKLORE, the Krampus is St. Nikolaus’s dark servant—a hairy, horned, supernatural beast whose pointed ears and long, slithering tongue gave misbehavers the creeps! The Krampus terrorized the bad until they promised to be good. His escapades were delineated by skilled and imaginative Old World craftsmen, printed on penny postcards and disseminated throughout Europe.

The rare examples featured in Last Gasp’s line of Krampus products are, perhaps, the best history has left to offer. There are 3 new Krampus releases this year:

Krampus Greeting Cards in Tin #2 $19.95 978-0-86719-810-2

Greetings From Krampus: 24 Assorted Postcards $14.95 978-0-86719-820-1

Grown-up coloring books

Joanna Basford’s books The Secret Garden and The Enchanted Forest have helped make it OK for adults to break out the crayons and colored pencils and color again. Everyone from The New York Times to Slate and many other media outlets have written about the grown-up coloring book phenomenon. As wonderful as that is, the publishers have had a tough time keeping the books in stock, especially Laurence King Publishers (distributed by Chronicle Books) with the Basford titles. Laurence King wants everyone to know that your frustrations are being heard and wrote this letter for us to share with you. Thanks for your support of these great titles.
